Find Jesus

Search the scriptures; for in them ye THINK ye have eternal life: and they are they which TESTIFY of me. – John 5:39

This is one of the most awesome verses in the entire bible.  I know so many people who study and know their bible and still DO NOT know Jesus!  In fact, a lot of Atheists know their bible better than most Christians do, yet they still do not believe.

Let me get something straight right now.  The bible is NOT the word of God.  It is the WORDS of God.  The bible is NOT Jesus.  It merely TESTIFIES of Jesus.

Jesus is REAL.  He was a REAL person and HE lived on this earth among us.  Many people seen Him, many people seen the miracles HE did, many people even seen HIM after HE raised from the dead.  1 Cor 15:6, yet many people still have not found HIM, nor do they believe in HIM.

The bible records 12 times that Jesus appeared after HE raised from the dead.  They are:

1st of 12 The appearance of Jesus to Marry Magdalene Sunday 17th or 21st of Nisan – Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:9-11, John 20:11-18

2nd of 12 The appearance of Jesus to the other women – Matthew 28:1

3rd of 12 The appearance of Jesus to two disciples (Cleophas and another) on the road to Emmaus – Mark 16:12-13, Luke 24:13-32, John 24:33-35, 1 Corinthians 15:5

4th of 12 The news of the appearance of Jesus to Simon Peter – Luke 24:33-35, 1 Corinthians 15:5

5th of 12 The appearance to the astonished disciples (Thomas absent) with a commission – Mark 16:14, Luke 24:36-43, 1 Corinthians 15:5

6th of 12 The appearance of Jesus to the disciples the next Sunday night  – John 20:26-31

7th of 12 The appearance of Jesus to seven disciples besides the Sea of Galilee – John 21:1-25

8th of 12 Jesus appears to the eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee – Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-18

9th of 12 12 Jesus appears to about 500 hundred people on a mountain in Galilee – 1 Corinthians 15:6

10th of 12 12 Jesus appears to James his brother  – 1 Corinthians 15:7, Galatians 1:9

11th of 12 Jesus appears to the disciples with another commission –  Luke 24:44-49 & Acts 1:3-8

12th of 12 Jesus appears to the disciples with another commission –  Luke 24:44-49 & Acts 1:3-8

And yet, with all that recorded testimony, there are still people who still do not or will not believe!  Go figure!

There, I did all the hard work for you.  NOW will you believe?

The Hour Is Coming

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. – John 5:28-29

This speaks of two resurrections.  The first, those who are saved and then those who are not.  I believe the latter is the “great multitude that no man can count” as recorded in Revelation 7:9.  To me, it is just common sense that the number of non believers will be greater than the number of believers.

It may not be today, or tomorrow, or the next day, but rest assured the hour is coming!  Are YOU ready?

3 Statements

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: – John 5:19-22

In these verses Jesus made 3 profound statements:

01.  I AM God and I do what God does.  verse 19

02.  The Lord Jesus raises the dead.  Verse 21

03.  All judgement has been given to Jesus. Verse 22

He is God, He will raise the dead, and He will judge both the believer and the non believer.  The believer will only have his WORKS judged, but he himself will be saved.  The non believer will be judged because they did not believe in Jesus.

Now there is an apple of gold to chew on.

Sin Makes You Sick

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the TEMPLE and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin NO MORE, lest a worse thing come unto thee. – John 5:14

The man Jesus healed, not only got healed physically, but spiritually as well.  After he got healed Jesus found him in the TEMPLE.  Most likely, he was thanking God, confessing his sins and repenting.

I believe this verse also shows us CLEARLY that the man was sick for 38 years because of some sin or sins he had committed.  Jesus proved this when HE told the man to sin NO MORE.  All sin has consequences.  However, this verse also shows that when we confess our sins, and TURN AWAY from them, we will obtain mercy and be healed.

REPENTANCE is the LEAST preached about topic in most churches today.

What Caused The Jews To Want To Try To Kill Jesus?

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. – John 5:16

Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. – John 5:18

The text here is John Chapter 5:5-18 there is so much to write about in these verses.  Jesus healed a man at the pool of Bethesda on the Sabbath day.  This was a huge no no to the Jews.  According to them, nobody was allowed to do the slightest bit of work on the Sabbath Day.  That included carrying a mans bed.

Jesus changed all of that when He told the man to “Take up thy bed and walk” John 5:11. Doing that, Jesus showed He was God and that He could do anything HE wanted at any time HE wanted.

The Jews seen Jesus as just a man. They were insulted and embarrassed and more than any other miracle Jesus had done, this one was the most offensive to the Jews.

Saved By Grace

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

The message I got from this verse is that God does not save by love.  He saves by grace.  Ephesians 2:8-9 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God does save us BECAUSE HE loves us, but He actually saves us by GRACE.

Born of Water

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. – John 3:5

Water here means “the Word of God”.  Jesus said in John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  And Hebrews 4:12 says  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We need to read, study, memorize and meditate on the bible, which will lead us to Jesus, who will save us and baptize us in the Holy Spirit.

Now that truly is an apple of gold.

The Christmas Story In A Nutshell

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

This is what Christmas is all about to me.  Jesus (God) became flesh (human) and came down and dwelt among us.  He blessed us, He healed us, He taught us, and then He gave HIS life to pay the penalty for our sins.  And then He offered us Eternal Life if we would only believe in Him!  He also promised to come back and get us one day.

That is a lot to celebrate!

My Wendy Is Home

Wendy was released from the hospital yesterday.  Praise God again for another miracle.  She does not need rehab.

I am at her house as I write this.  I am with her and will take care of her until she is 100%.  I am staying right here until she is better.  She has an extra bedroom and a couch I can sleep on, so there is no need for me to leave.

Right now, she is getting some much needed rest.  Her throat is still very sore, but she ate some cereal both last night and this morning.  She has pills she has to take and she still needs to visit a doctor regularly, but other than that, she is doing fine.

She slept straight through the night and is sleeping peacefully again right now. I am so happy!  I feel whole again, lol.

Right now, I am sitting at her computer, going over all the scriptures God taught me during all of this.  I wrote them on 3 x 5 cards and am calling them “My Emergency Bible Pack”.

Thank you all so much for your support and prayers!  You ARE my Christian family and when you need me, I will be there for you.  I have been taking care of myself and I also got some much needed sleep last night.  I feel pretty good today and I will get back to normal posting tomorrow.

Please don’t let the miracle of Wendys healing die.  I know I am not going to let it.  I plan to use it to lift and help others.  Lets pass this miracle on to others who may need it.  Families and sick people.  We have all proven Gods love and the power of prayer.  Now it is our job to pass it on to the rest of the world in hopes that God might save some.

I love you all very very much.  My posts from here on out will be much different.  They will not be so much about what I have read in the bible but how God has taught me to LIVE it and what I have tried and what has worked for me.

God bless you all so much.

On a side note:  I am moderating comments because porn sites seem to be typing just enough of a comment now to get past the spam filter and until I figure out what to do, I have no choice but to moderate comments.  Please do not let that stop you from commenting.  I need to hear from “my family”.

Lots of Love,
